The Paper Mouse / Graphilo Notebook

I've been on the lookout for Blackwing pencils sold open-box, and when I finished my notebook yesterday I realised that I had to get to a stationery store ASAP. Luckily there is a shop called "The Paper Mouse" in West Newton, MA, and I finally had a chance to drop by.

It's absolutely adorable in there - chock full of cards and pens and pencils and an appropriate number of knick knacks. It's run by two couples, and I was lucky to meet Jenny and Susan. Jenny was very friendly and told me about their journey towards having a physical shop and their process of searching for items that will make people happy.

Let me tell you, I was pretty happy to be in that shop. They didn't have as many notebooks as I was expecting, but by the time I'd spent forty minutes discussing the traits of various pencils and paper products, I'd fallen in love with writing all over again. So I purchased a staplebound Graphilo notebook, which is quite different from my usual.

It's a beautiful soft grey cover, and I'm worried about getting it dirty. This is normally why I go for hardbound. I'll just have to take extra good care of this one. It's A5 size, and the grid rule has a margin all about the page. I'm estimating about 32 sheets. Probably the most expensive notebook I've ever gotten for so little paper! But I love it, and I'll cherish every word I write in it (with my Blackwings!)

Here are a few shots of my outgoing notebook:
